Our story / Downtown Reno since 2014
WHITNEY
PEAK.
SINCE 2014.
In 2014, a vacant downtown hotel became Reno’s first non-gaming, non-smoking full-service hotel.
Virginia Street / Reno, NevadaA different kind of hotel
DOWNTOWN
WITHOUT
THE CASINO.
Whitney Peak opened where Virginia Street meets Commercial Row, with the Reno Arch right outside. The idea was straightforward: a place to stay in the middle of the city, without a casino between you and the front desk.
The hotel brought Café Whitney, BaseCamp’s indoor bouldering and outdoor climbing wall, and Cargo Concert Hall to the building, alongside guest rooms and event spaces.
In 2024, Reno marked our tenth anniversary by proclaiming July 18 Whitney Peak Hotel Day.
